Erik Allan, P. Eng
Erik has a degree from the University of Calgary in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development and is thrilled to be running the Tundra A.C.E. program. He looks forward to sharing his experiences, successes, and failures with entrants to the program as they work together to fast track the commercialization of new technologies that solve some of industry’s toughest challenges. Over the past 2 years Erik has been helping Tundra with multiple strategic initiatives, and has been involved in over a dozen startups over the course of the past 10 years.
One of Erik’s proudest entrepreneurial achievements is being a founding member in a technology company called FormationFinder.com. The team created a web-based workflow optimization tool and grew their users from zero to over 30,000 in under 3 years. Recently, FormationFinder.com partnered with IHS Markit to launch the premium version of their product inside the widely used mapping tool, AccuMap.
Erik is also an avid Martial Artist and helps run a local Ninjutsu Dojo where he trains during the week and teaches kids classes on the weekends. He also helps his Sensei teach “The Leadership Dojo” at the University of Calgary, Haskayne School of Business, and is extremely passionate about personal development and growth.
Over the last 10 years Iggy has led the transformation of Tundra from a small instrumentation distributor to an innovative $140-million industrial equipment integrator with seven divisions and lead Tundra to become one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
Prior to Tundra, Iggy worked in Corporate Finance at Investors Group and Richardson GMP in Winnipeg, and later became President of Western Industrial Enterprises, an air compressor distributor in Vancouver.
Iggy is passionate about supporting his community and has served on the boards of the Kids Cancer Care Foundation, the Learning Disabilities Association, and the International Society of Automation.
He has been recognized as one of Oilweek’s Rising Stars, Alberta Oil’s New Energy Leaders, and Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40.
Dan Peet founded Tundra Process Solutions Ltd. in 1999 (formerly called Tundra Controls Ltd.) after having worked in Outside Sales for Templar Controls since the early 1990s. In 1996, he relocated to Calgary and began the journey of building what is now known as one of Alberta’s success stories – Tundra is currently the 6th fastest growing Canadian company, with revenues in the ‘over $100 million’ category.
As President of Tundra Process Solutions Ltd., Dan has played a crucial role in shaping Tundra into what it is today – not only with regards to revenue, but also shaping the proud and special culture that exists within our company.
He has a relentless, entrepreneurial attitude, and possesses a deep knowledge of our products and solutions. Much of his success can be attributed to his passion and understanding of people, partly achieved through his Bachelor’s in Psychology & Sociology degree from the University of Alberta. This is demonstrated by and proved through the way he treats our employees, clients, colleagues, & business partners. He believes that surrounding himself with great people with complimentary skillsets, and listening to their needs is a big key to forming a powerful and influential team.
Dan is a strong believer of life-long learning, creative thinking, thought leadership, and continuously improving and expanding our offerings through quality, reliability, and simply asking our clients and industry leaders “what keeps them up at night.”
Outside of growing Tundra, Dan and his wife Erin are busy keeping up with their boys, Connor and Kiefer Peet, who are avid adrenaline seekers, top placing go-kart racers, skiers, and sport and car enthusiasts.
